Having a decent phone which is versatile is all we hope for, that's exactly what Huawei P30 Lite offers. The display is good enough, decent camera. The downside is the battery capacity, it's disappointing seeing a phone with such feature still having such battery capacity. The design is absolutely top-notch, just as it's rival it supports fast charging.
We were sad to hear about Huawei getting suspended by Google, it has a bad effect on Huawei smartphone. This simply means we won't be able to access Android Play Store which is an app store for downloading Android apps. Google also brings about security update on Android devices. Huawei will miss out on all these Google features, the questing that arises at the moment is how long will it take Huawei to sort this out. A smartphone without Google Play Store will really make people insist on purchasing Huawei in the market.
All Huawei 'Lite' series has been top notch recently, it's currently giving a huge competition to Xiaomi affordable products. The P30 Lite comes with a premium design which makes it difficult to differentiate from top-tier smartphones like Samsung. It also comes with a whopping storage capacity of 128GB as well as the triple-lens back camera which consists of the main sensor, depth sensor, and the ultra-wide sensor. The RAM isn't bad either, it comes with a 4GB RAM which is average. The disappointing part is the battery capacity, it has a battery capacity of 3,340mAh which is pretty small for even moderate users. Let's walk you through the details of Huawei P30 Lite specifications.
Huawei P30 Lite Price
The price ranges due to your location and the store you'll wish to purchase it from, it costs $300 (N100000)
Design & Display
Premium Design
Minimum Bezel
As said earlier, P30 Lite comes with premium design. It had a screen size of 6.15-inch which can be held easily with one hand without any difficulty even though you have a small hand. The frame is made up of plastic which is solid enough, forge front of the phone is made up of glass which has a minimum bezel. The slightly curved sides make it easy to grip without any difficulty. Huawei P30 Lite fingerprint scanner is at the back with a triple-lens camera. At the right side of the phone, you'll find the power button and volume keys while at the bottom you'll find a USB-C port. We were very impressed that Huawei hasn't ruled out 3.5mm headphone jack.
Huawei P30 Lite weighs 159g which is light and a density of 7.4mm. At the top of this fascinating smartphone, you'll find the SIM tray which is meant for two nano sim or a microSD card. P30 Lite has an aspect ratio of 19:5:9 LCD screen with a body ratio of 85%. The display is vibrant and colorful thanks to the Full HD+ resolution and a PPI of 415. It comes with a water droplet notch which is found at the top which the front camera is embedded in. It has a screen resolution of 1080 x 2312 which enhances the display quality, brightness level, and pixel density. The resolution also enhances the color accuracy of contents and white balance, you also have the ability to tweak this feature to what you think is better for you. P30 Lite comes in three colors which are: Pearl White, Peacock Blue and Midnight color which is quite common recently.

Battery
Low Battery Capacity
Supports Fast Charging
Huawei P30 Lite comes with a battery capacity of 3,340mAh which is actually decent, though we expected something much better than this. The optimization feature manages the battery life span which makes it last longer than expected. The optimization feature disables unused connectivity, limits app running on the background, it also gives you report on the app consuming the most battery.
During our test, the phone lasted a whole day with just a few percents left in the tank under average use. We also tried watching a 120-minute full-length video at the highest resolution, the battery dropped with just 23%. We are impressed that P30 Lite supports 18W fast charging, it charged it fully within s hour and 20 minutes from 0%. We recommend fast charging isn't used frequently due to its effect on battery life span.

Camera
Triple Rear Camera
Poor Image Stabilization
No 4K Video Recording
Huawei P30 Lite comes with a triple rear camera setup, which consists of 48MP main camera and an aperture of f/1.8, ultra-wide sensor of 8MP and an aperture of f/2.4 and a depth sensor of 2MP and an aperture of f/2.4. The main camera has better resolution than its series rival, the P30.
However, P30 Lite lacks optical image stabilization and does not support 4K video recording. The front camera is extremely good enough, the surprising thing is that P30 camera capture images at 12MP instead of 48MP which is written on paper, this is because the pixel binning combines multiple likely in order to give better quality in a lower resolution image which will directly enhance the accuracy and handle the noise in the image. This technique is a recent technique applied by phone manufacturers.
The camera app user interface is fast and captures the image quickly but accessing the camera features seems a bit slow. During our test, we tried snapping some pictures in light and we noticed the images lack a bit of contrast. The AI assistant really helps, especially when it comes to scene recognition, but you have to toggle this on in order to see the better quality. The ranged picture was impressive, thanks to HDR mode. We noticed a bit of noise in pictures captured in low light.
As for the front camera, the images taken were well detailed but has too many contrasts, the beauty mode brings about the option to customize your photos much better with the effects of your choice. It's really disappointing Huawei P30 Lite doesn't support 4K video record.
Storage
Decent Storage Capacity
Huawei P30 Lite comes with 4GB RAM and an internal storage capacity of 128GB which can also be expanded with a microSD card. It has a processor of HiSilicon Kiron 710 chipset which enhances the performance. The storage capacity is enough to store bulk of apps, videos, audios, and documents. Smartphone users that like downloading should keep eye on the storage.

Interface & Performance
Android 9 Pie
P30 Lite runs on Android 9 Pie, with Huawei stock version which is the EMUI 9 UI. Due to the suspend of Huawei by Google, the P30 Lite will miss out on the latest security update but will still have Google app-management tool.
The Huawei OS has custom features which are a bit different from that of Google OS. The navigation seems fast and easy to understand, it notification bar and home screen has iOS and Android feature, it does doesn't have an app tray nor a navigation bar by default. They can all be activated in Settings. During our test, we tried running lagged apps and multitasking than we rarely notice any sign of lag, it isn't the same story for the splitting of the screen, it lags a bit. Games were fast enough, but 3D games that run with the internet were quite slow.
Verdict
Huawei P30 Lite is really a 'Lite' phone, it's really decent and versatile with a nice display, decent camera, and good performance. The battery capacity was quite disappointing, thanks to the optimization feature that makes it possible for the battery to last longer. It also supports fast charging and also has the storage capacity to store enough. You need a smartphone which is versatile and has premium features at an affordable price, we recommend the P30 Lite, go give a try!
