Camera
Poor Images
Dual Lens
Lose Of Focus

Nokia 4.2 comes with a 13MP main camera with an aperture of f/2.2 which is supported by a 2MP depth sensor of f/2.2 aperture. The selfie camera has 8MP and aperture of f/2.0. The camera app is very easy to use it has other features such as the night mode and the slo-mo for recording videos. The images were taken looks a bit crispy and a bit above average under natural light. We also notice some few difficulties when trying to use the Focus feature, it takes time to lock focus and it's very annoying so you have to deal with it if you think of buying Nokia 4.2.

During our test, we noticed photos taken from a long distance looked a bit washed out.

The images taken from a short distance are colorful, but it's counterpart such as Xaiomi and OnePlus boast a better camera ability that Nokia 4.2.

Battery
Low Battery Capacity

It comes with a battery capacity of 3,000mAh which is slightly disappointing. It rarely lasts a whole day under normal day to day usage. During our test, we used social media for some hours, streamed on YouTube, listened to music, has some phone calls and played some games. The phone lasted for 16 hours.

The charging speed isn't any different, it takes a bunch of time to charge fully. The fast charging feature isn't any different from normal charging.

Under heavy users (roughly an hour of gaming) we noticed a rise in temperature which was felt easily around the bump of the camera.

Storage
Low Storage Capacity

It comes with a relatively low storage capacity of 3GB RAM which is powered by Snapdragon 439 SoC. It also supports expandable storage with the aid of a microSD card of 400GB.

The expandable storage gives you enough space to store enough audios, videos as well as files. We recommend you expand your storage after purchase in order not to suffer storage issue.

Interface & Performance
Android 9 Pie
It Lags

It runs on Android Pie. This version gives you access to Navigating gestures, Adaptive Battery and Adaptive Brightness, there are still many features you will explore after your purchase.

It is really amazing to hear that Nokia 4.2 comes with smart locks such as face recognition as well as the fingerprint sensor which works better than its rival. It unlocks easily within a second meaning a twinkle of an eye.

We run some few games, we notice a lack of graphics quality especially internet enabled game. We also noticed some few moments where it lags due to running large apps.

Verdict

Nokia 4.2 isn't just an average budget smartphone, it has all the features the like of OnePlus, Xiaomi boast of. The phone is pretty good but the shutter lag is one of its main issues.
